The Queensland Wall and Floor Tiling Commission (QBCC) regulates the licensing and registration for trade works

Types of Licences

You can apply for this licence as a:

    1. Contractor: With this licence, you can contract for Wall and Floor Tiling work.
    2. Company: It lets a company to contract for and perform Wall and Floor Tiling work.
    3. Site Supervisor: It allows you to supervise work on behalf of a licensed contractor, but you cannot contract out individually to perform Wall and Floor Tiling work or be appointed as a nominated supervisor for a company.

Qualification & Experience Requirements

To get a Builders Licence in Queensland, you need to have the following qualification:

  • Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling (Building), or successful completion of a course equivalent to Certificate IV in Wall and Floor Tiling.

    1. Certificate and Transcript of qualifications
    2. Financial documents (for contractor types only)
    3. Identification documents
    4. Written references
    5. A current copy of your Record of Registration form ASIC, if you are contracting under a trading name
    6. If you are contracting under a partnership, proof of the business partnership
    7. The applicable fees
