Age: 18 years or older.
English Language: Proof of meeting one of the following:
- Passed VCE English or VCE ESL at year 12 level or equivalent.
- Demonstrated sufficient LLN skills through pre-training review process.
Pre-Training Review: Evaluation includes assessment of:
- Language, Literacy, and Numeracy skills.
- Understanding of course structure.
- Computer literacy.
- Motivation for course enrolment.
Course Entry Requirements: There are no formal entry requirements for the Advanced Diploma of Building Surveying. However
- Applicants should have a keen interest in construction and building maintenance.
- Access to a real or closely simulated workplace environment for training and assessment may be required.
- Completion of relevant lower-level qualifications such as a Certificate IV in Building and Construction or equivalent may be advantageous.
State and territory jurisdictions may have different licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements. Relevant state and territory regulatory authorities should be consulted to confirm those requirements.

How to Apply for a License
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) means an assessment process that assesses the competency/s of an individual that may have been acquired through formal, non-formal and informal learning to determine the extent to which that individual meets the requirements specified in the training package or VET accredited courses.
You can use a variety of evidence to apply for RPL. Our partnered RTO will assess the evidence to decide if further training or assessment is required.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Records of completed training
- Assessment items
- Assessment records
- Declarations from a student’s employer, and/or
- A copy of student records provided by ASQA.
