The CHC50421 - Diploma of Youth Work is designed to equip individuals with the skills and knowledge necessary to support and advocate for young people in various community settings. This qualification covers a broad range of topics, including developing and implementing youth programs, supporting the social, emotional, and psychological development of young people, and managing youth services. Students will learn to work with diverse groups of young people, address their unique needs, and facilitate positive outcomes through effective communication, relationship-building, and intervention strategies.

There are no formal entry requirements for this Diploma of Youth Work course. However, Educube has additional entry requirements for this qualification;
- Minimum age requirement: 18 years
- Demonstrated English language proficiency equivalent to IELTS 5.5 or equivalent
- To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 200 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of units of competency.
- Completion of a Certificate IV in Youth Work or equivalent qualification.
- Demonstrated vocational competency in the youth work field.
- Successful completion of a Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) assessment.
- Compliance with Commonwealth and State/Territory legislation, Australian standards, and industry codes of practice.
- A valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) and National Police Check.
Applicants who do not meet the standard entry requirements but have relevant life or work experience may be eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) assessment to determine their suitability for the course.

How to Apply for a License
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) means an assessment process that assesses the competency/s of an individual that may have been acquired through formal, non-formal and informal learning to determine the extent to which that individual meets the requirements specified in the training package or VET accredited courses.
You can use a variety of evidence to apply for RPL. Our partnered RTO will assess the evidence to decide if further training or assessment is required.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Records of completed training
- Assessment items
- Assessment records
- Declarations from a student’s employer, and/or
- A copy of student records provided by ASQA.
