Requirements for Metal fabrication licence
To become a licensed metal fabricator, you must meet specific requirements, which can vary by state. Here are the general requirements:
Qualifications:
You typically need to complete one of the following qualifications:
- Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade (MEM30319 or previous versions)
- Certificate III in Engineering - Welding Trade

Licensing:
First class welders (coded welders) generally don't need a specific licence to trade in Western Australia. However, you may need other relevant licences depending on employer requirements.
