The Diploma of Mental Health equips individuals with the skills and knowledge to work effectively in the mental health sector. It covers a broad range of topics including mental health promotion, prevention, and intervention strategies, as well as providing support to those affected by mental illness. This qualification enables graduates to work as mental health support workers, case managers, or community rehabilitation workers in various settings such as community services organizations, residential facilities, or government agencies.

There are no formal entry requirements for this Diploma of Mental Health course. However, Educube has additional entry requirements for this qualification;
- Minimum age requirement: 18 years
- Demonstrated English language proficiency equivalent to IELTS 5.5 or equivalent
- Successful completion of any pre-enrollment assessment or interview conducted by the training provider
- Relevant work experience or industry background may be considered
- Completion of CHC43215 Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs or a related qualification
- Minimum of 160 hours of work experience in a mental health or related setting
- Understanding of mental health principles, legislation, and ethical considerations
Applicants who do not meet the standard entry requirements but have relevant life or work experience may be eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) assessment to determine their suitability for the course

How to Apply for a License
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) means an assessment process that assesses the competency/s of an individual that may have been acquired through formal, non-formal and informal learning to determine the extent to which that individual meets the requirements specified in the training package or VET accredited courses.
You can use a variety of evidence to apply for RPL. Our partnered RTO will assess the evidence to decide if further training or assessment is required.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Records of completed training
- Assessment items
- Assessment records
- Declarations from a student’s employer, and/or
- A copy of student records provided by ASQA.
