Course Entry Requirements: There are no formal entry requirements for Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician, However, to be eligible participants must be :
- A minimum age of 16 is required for students.
- Applicants need to be involved in an Electrical Apprenticeship at Building Institute NSW.
- Must be registered as an Apprentice with a chosen employer and have a Delta number designating Building Institute NSW as the selected training provider.
- Recommended completion of at least Year 11 or equivalent.
- English and Math Requirements: Minimum Year 10 proficiency in both subjects is necessary.
- Before enrollment, a literacy and numeracy assessment, along with a pre-training interview, is mandatory.
State and territory jurisdictions may have different licensing, legislative, regulatory, or certification requirements. Relevant state and territory regulatory authorities should be consulted to confirm those requirements.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) means an assessment process that assesses the competency/s of an individual that may have been acquired through formal, non-formal and informal learning to determine the extent to which that individual meets the requirements specified in the training package or VET accredited courses.
You can use a variety of evidence to apply for RPL. Our partnered RTO will assess the evidence to decide if further training or assessment is required.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Records of completed training
- Assessment items
- Assessment records
- Declarations from a student’s employer, and/or
- A copy of student records provided by ASQA.
