Requirements for Waterproofing Licence
To become a licensed Waterproofer, you must meet specific requirements, which can vary by state. Here are the general requirements:
- Qualifications:
You need to complete one of the following qualifications:

- CPC31420 (current) Certificate III in Construction Waterproofing
- CPC31411 / CPC31408 Certificate III in Construction Waterproofing
- BCG31403 Certificate III in Waterproofing (General Construction)
- Certificate III in General Construction (Waterproofing)
- Pro Tips: If you have at least 2 years of relevant experience, you can fast-track your qualification through the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process. This means your on-the-job skills could count towards your certification!
Licence Thresholds:
You need a licence to perform waterproofing work valued above:

- NSW: $5,000 in labour and materials (including GST)
- Queensland: $3,300
- Western Australia: $20,000
- Northern Territory: $12,000
- Tasmania: $5,000
