Experience Requirements

Regulatory Licensing Requirements
Childcare workers must have completed 280 of work in a regulated children's education and care service in Australia as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of units of competency. The number of hours may be applied collectively across all units of competency that include the requirement for workplace hours.
No occupational licensing, certification, or specific legislative requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) means an assessment process that assesses the competency/s of an individual that may have been acquired through formal, non-formal and informal learning to determine the extent to which that individual meets the requirements specified in the training package or VET accredited courses.
You can use a variety of evidence to apply for RPL. Our partnered RTO will assess the evidence to decide if further training or assessment is required.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Records of completed training
- Assessment items
- Assessment records
- Declarations from a student’s employer, and/or
- A copy of student records provided by ASQA.
