The TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment has specific entry criteria. Candidates must show vocational competency in their intended teaching and assessment area. Vocational competency encompasses broad industry knowledge and experience, which may involve holding a relevant unit of competency or qualification, among other factors.
Educube has additional entry requirements for this qualification;
- have a minimum of two years equivalent full-time workplace experience.
- be 18 years of age or older at the time of enrolment
- have a Unique Student Identifier (USI) number (you can receive a USI or check if you already have one by visiting here)
- Participants should have language, literacy, and numeracy skills equivalent to a minimum of Year 10.
- It is highly recommended that all students are computer literate, as there is a portion of this course that involves computer work.
This qualification meets the minimum education requirement for trainers and assessors operating without supervision under applicable VET legislation, frameworks, and/or standards. The qualification is a successor to TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

How to Apply for a License
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) means an assessment process that assesses the competency/s of an individual that may have been acquired through formal, non-formal and informal learning to determine the extent to which that individual meets the requirements specified in the training package or VET accredited courses.
You can use a variety of evidence to apply for RPL. Our partnered RTO will assess the evidence to decide if further training or assessment is required.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Records of completed training
- Assessment items
- Assessment records
- Declarations from a student’s employer, and/or
- A copy of student records provided by ASQA.
