  • Certificate III in Construction Carpentry, Trade TAFE course #8044 (Qualification 90203)
  • Certificate III in Construction Carpentry, Trade TAFE course #7906 (Qualification 11770)

Training

You may get some relevant training from training organisation before applying for getting a certificate such as:

General construction induction training: It is mandatory training for working in the construction industry in Australia. This training includes important topics such as workplace health and safety, hazard identification and control, and risk management.

High-risk work (HRW) license for rigging: This course is required for anyone who is involved in rigging and lifting operations in NSW. Through this course, you will get to learn about basic rigging, intermediate rigging, advanced rigging, additional rigging, all classes of rigging work, and rigging career. 

Concrete rigging training: This training course offers the principles and techniques of rigging in concrete, the use of cranes, crane operation, licensed crane operator, granty cranes, dismantling of cranes, cantilevered crane loading platforms, self-erecting tower cranes, safe lifting practice, and other lifting equipment. The training must be conducted by a registered training organization (RTO) and it should be approved by Safe Work NSW.

How to apply

If you have fulfilled all the conditions, eligibility requirements, and qualification requirements, you have to lodge your application in person for licence and payment in person at the nearest service NSW center.

Previous licence holder/ supervisor certificate holders

1) If you had previously any licence or supervisor certificate and you want to apply again, you need not apply again, your previous contractor license or supervisor license will be reissued.

2) Within the last five years if you had endorsed a contractor licence or qualified supervisor certificate in general concreting which was subject to conditions or restrictions or conditions will be reissued.

Renew a licence

You will need the below things to renew your license

  • your licence number
  • renewal form
  • renewal payment
  • additional details forms (if applicable)
  • details of any past compliance issues, insolvency matters, or criminal offenses (if applicable)
  • details of the change of any circumstances to the license or certificate.

License Replacement

To replace your license or certificate you will be needing:

  • Application for a duplicate licence, permit form or certificate
  • Personal and licence details
  • Required Payment

Financial Conditions

  • Insurance- A licensed construction worker, building designer or accredited building designer, concrete specialists, or tradesperson in NSW, needs to get home building compensation coverage for his each and every building project. ($20,000 including GST).

Suspended or Canceled license

Reasons for suspension or cancellation of your license:

  • Unlawful activity
  • Getting a license by fraudulent means
  • Rigging
  • Bankruptcy
