Is Australia Going Backwards?

Australia is a country and continent surrounded by the Indian and Pacific oceans. Its major cities – Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide – are coastal. Its capital, Canberra, is inland. The country is known for its Sydney Opera House, the Great Barrier Reef, a vast interior desert wilderness called the Outback, and unique animal species like kangaroos and duck-billed platypuses.

About our country

The house prices have skyrocketed in the past 55 years by manifold. So the rental costs which put many first time home buyers into good night dream!

We’ve seen more homeless in the street than ever before!

The mining industry at its lowest point which has made WA unbelievably a vulnerable state now!

People are still struggling for better internet even compared to some developing countries, set aside the developed ones!

Government is taking a radical, immature and irresponsible decision towards migration and civil laws lately. Which has been badly criticized and ridiculed by many world leaders, oppositions and local Australians?

Accommodation in big cities, like Sydney, has become nearly impossible for average Australians. Due to government-uncontrolled housing prices and sumptuous lifestyle as compared to New York, Tokyo, London, etc. Despite the fact of being under average/similar pay rate compared to the world’s big cities.

There’s no sign of industrial revolution neither engineering or IT industry has been encouraged. Or entertained any privilege in the past 100 years!

WHY IS THAT?

First of all, we are one of the biggest countries in the world among the lowest population breeders. Along with the bounty of natural resources, guarded by beautiful seas, mountains, and greenery which we are not taking the full advantage of due to poor management and immigration system.

If we look at the prosperous cities like New York, Silicon Valley (high-tech companies in San Mateo County), LA, Tokyo, London, even Dubai they always have managed to attract more migrants from different parts of the world in such a structured manner so that they can contribute to the nation as a whole in technology, engineering, and other sectors effectively.

Consequently, USA has the highest number of migrant billionaires followed by all the biggest and giant companies in the world.

According to Michio Kaku, the renowned Japanese-American theoretical physicist, there won’t be any Silicon Valley or Wall Street money if there were no immigrants in the USA! He then continued: “Two-thirds of total doctors and engineers, Ph.D. holders are either foreign-born, immigrants or born to an immigrant parents”(rephrased).

It’s sad that the Australian immigration system and lawmakers are still ignorant of such revolution despite the fact of our vast natural resources, an abundance of land and great weather!

If we can attract more immigrants under talent visa in designated locations we definitely can bring a revolutionary change in our industrial, IT and engineering sector.

The government must understand the needs of doctors, engineers, IT Professionals, pharmacists, scientists, entrepreneurs in order to navigate this nation towards a brighter and long-lasting future.

The lawmakers must go through ( prior to being selected) a rigorous process of series of tests in selection criteria to make sure their credibility, past experience and academic background irrespective of ethnic background in the best interest of this country.

The government should raise more effective awareness through digital media, TV, social activities and newspapers amongst local people on education and new technology.

The education institutes should be more tightly and closely observed of their activities and curriculum being delivered whether it’s industry compliant and international quality to compete against other developed countries.

We also must start taking some baby steps towards manufacturing and IT by attracting more foreign experts in this country.

Migration policy should be reformed to attract more foreign investors and industry talents under certain conditions that benefit the country along with immigrants in the long run in order to build more international companies and in-house technology to become more self-sufficient.

I believe Australia, by nature, has way more to offer than what we can see if we take the necessary steps to protect this beautiful country from ignorance and forget the difference of ethnicity.
