Top 4 reasons why you should work at regional area

Over the past few years, Australia’s population has slowly started to shift from big cities to smaller towns in regional areas. There are pros and cons to working in both. However, with the new migration trends, regional areas become a promised destination for thousands of overseas workers who are looking to settle down in this country.

1. Fewer competitions and more opportunities

Even though there are a huge amount of job opportunities in big cities. Like as Sydney and Melbourne regardless on which industry you want to go into. The large population makes the competition for a job extremely high. In the meantime, employment in rural area still have plenty of opportunities but with less competition, which means you have a better chance to get through the interview stage. And obtain your dream job just because you apply it in the regional area.

2. More money

In fact, the annual salary in big cities is always considered as higher than a rural area. However, the cost of living outside those cities are a lot cheaper. Therefore, it would be easier to save money while living in regional areas.

3. Work- Life balance

People living in rural and regional areas not only have access to an appealing array of natural, culinary and tourist attractions. They have the time to enjoy them.

Back to the subject of commute, if you live close to a regional office and either drive in or get public transport, you’re bound to be traveling less than in a city. Working in a regional office means you’ll have a lot more spare time on your hands. Which admittedly everyone wants!

4. Migration opportunities

Last year, out of 184,000 migrants given permanent places in Australia. There were nearly 12,000 regional visas granted under regional schemes (according to sbs.com.au). The Australian government recently encourage more overseas workers to stay and work in those areas. Therefore, the migration regulation barrier has been slightly lifted for people who interested in moving to a rural area.
